Electric pocket bikes are becoming all the rage these days, almost as popular as gas pocket bikes. Summer time is here and people are looking for ways to enjoy the great weather. Whether you’re planning on racing or just merely playing around, an electric pocket bike is a great way to do this. Electric mini pocket bikes share many similarities to its gas pocket bike counterpart. They both have the main motorcycle features: headlights, turn signals, kickstand, etc.

Electric pocket mini bikes are not quite as powerful as a gas powered mini bike but they do have their own advantages. Electric powered pocket bikes do not vibrate while running which leads to a much smoother ride. Also since they don’t consume any fuel they don’t actively pollute. You also get the added benefit of not having to spend anything for gas, all you have to do it plug it in after used and you get several hours of use the next day.

Electric pocket bikes were some of the first types produced and were used for racing for sometime. Now a days most racing pocket bikes are gas powered four stroke bikes which are capable of speeds of over 75 mph almost double that of most electric bikes. But because of their slower speed, they are more suitable for beginners and children than the alternative.

Electric mini bikes have more safety features which makes them a great addition for children to have plenty of fun with. Whether you plan on racing or just having fun riding around, an electric pocket bike is the perfect vehicle to accomplish just that.

These electric pocket bikes have a super quiet electric motor that when charged, provides enough power for several hours of use. At 700 watts of power it is enough to move 200 pounds of weight at over 30 mph. And the great thing is, because they are powered by electricity they are environmentally friendly. So you can have fun and reduce your carbon footprint at the same time.

Buying An Electric Pocket Rocket

Many different dealers sell electric pocket bikes. They are about as common as gas powered mini bikes with just as many different brands. Online is a great resource for those looking to buy these bikes. You can usually find pocket bike straight through their company website or through specialty dealers that sell all kinds of mini bikes.

Generally electric pocket bikes are cheaper than their gas counterparts but it varies by make and brand name. They start at around $250 and go up to over $2,000 for the better brands and parts. Just like gas powered bikes, you are better off buying a better brand. The higher quality parts will last longer than cheap knock off pocket bike parts and will save money in the long run.

Common Electric Pocket Bike Features

A common feature that most bikes have now a days is a key ignition which is an anti theft safety measure that will prevent your pocket bike from being stolen.

A quiet electric motor is one of the best features of electric mini bikes. At 700 watts, this noise free motor lets you ride comfortably and silently with reasonable speed.

Front and rear vented disk brakes have an advantage of being self adjusting with the help of the brake caliper that makes up for any wear caused in the brake pads. This is a great safety feature that you should look for in any bike.

Most pocket bikes have tinted windshield, sporty instrument lights and headlights that give these pocket rockets their sporty look.

Flat resistance tubeless tires reduce the risk of flatting by creating an airtight seal in the tires’ interior enables these tubeless tires to function even in low pressure. These racing tires are a simple combination of a tubeless wheel with the tubeless tire and are equipped on many racing electric pocket bikes.

Electric pocket bikes are way, way better than their gas counterparts because their are much less noisier. If you want to spoil your neighborhood, just get a couple kids with gas pocket bikes and that’it! Gas pocket bikes have been forbidden in my area, all for the better. The kids who had one keep them in their closets now, and the entire community thanks them for that.

Also, I shall add that electric pocket bikes are plenty fast enough for children. Parents are happy too, because the children don’t beg them for change to buy gas, they just plug them all by themselves.
